Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Maxim Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenny Revell! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Revell drives through with a takedown into guard. Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Gracie working for a triangle but Revell defends it easily.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Revell has eaten all the pies! Revell thows a big elbow that misses. Revell looking to pass the guard. Revell advances position into side control! Gracie sneaks back into half guard. Gracie throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Gracie slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Revell looking to pass the guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Revell defends well. Gracie working for submissions but it's allowed Revell to get to half guard.
Gracie actively working from the bottom here. Gracie is breathing heavily. Revell is trying to control. Gracie wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Revell stands up from half guard. Revell fails in his attempt to clinch. Gracie shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Revell counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Revell.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Revell trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Revell slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Revell has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Revell drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Revell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Revell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Revell trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Revell got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Revell has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted. Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Revell tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Revell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head. Revell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Revell is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Gracie had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Revell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gracie Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Revell's back instead. Revell manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gracie's guard. Nice work there by Revell.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie punches the canvas rather than the man. Gracie has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Revell has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Maxim Gracie will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Revell to score an easy takedown into full guard. Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Revell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Revell tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard. Revell wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gracie is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Revell frees his head nicely. Oh but Gracie has switched to an armbar! Revell is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
