Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Connors (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ben Williams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Connors!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams misses with a takedown attempt - Connors sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Williams shoots in looking for a takedown. Connors tries to sprawl out of it but Williams keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Connors manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Connors is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Connors takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Williams fails with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Williams. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Williams forces Connors back against the cage and clinches.

Williams ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Williams no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Williams looking to control but Connors passes into half guard.
Williams wants to get back to full guard.
Williams wants to control but Connors is keeping busy.
Williams is looking to escape.
Williams won't allow Connors to pass to mount.
Connors wants to take a breather but Williams is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Connors takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Williams is looking to clinch.
Williams shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Connors defends it nicely.
Williams dives in and grabs Connors's left leg, looking for a takedown. Connors pushes down on Williams's head and hops out.
Connors avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Williams lands a nice shot to the body.

Williams jumps guard.
Williams on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Williams tries to get out of the position.

Connors wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
Williams is trying to hold Connors in close to prevent damage but Connors has managed to pass into half guard.
Williams is looking to improve his position.
Connors content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Connors trying to control the action but Williams is working from the bottom.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Connors looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Williams is looking for a sweep. Connors is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Connors keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Williams trying to get back to full guard but Connors takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Williams is in all sorts of trouble here.
Connors can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Williams is looking to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Williams wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Williams successfully pulls guard.
Connors trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Williams controls Connors momentarily but Connors frees himself.
Williams tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Connors throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Connors drops back looking for a leg! Williams is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Williams manages to kick Connors off! Connors jumps back into Williams's guard.
Connors won't allow Williams to sweep him here.

Connors postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Connors trying to control the position from guard on top but Williams is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Williams shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Connors is breathing heavily.
Williams unloading with bombs!
Williams trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Williams goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Connors turns into him and now he's in Williams's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Williams controls Connors momentarily but Connors frees himself.
Connors wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
Williams wants to get back to his feet but Connors is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Williams is wriggling around but Connors manages to pass to half guard.
Williams tries to kick Connors off in order to stand up. Connors Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Williams is looking to reverse the position.
Connors blocks the strikes from Williams.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Williams throws a body punch but Connors moves out of range.

Williams forces Connors back against the cage and clinches.

Williams pulls guard.
Connors trying to control but Williams is working from the bottom.
Williams not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams is looking to stand up but Connors isn't so interested in that idea.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Williams looking to hit a scissor sweep but Connors is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Williams dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Williams moves into the clinch.

Williams tightens his grip and picks Connors up, before dumping him to the ground. Connors manages to land in guard.
Williams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Connors avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Connors looking to hit a scissor sweep but Williams is one step ahead there.
Connors takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Connors can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Williams controls the pace.

Williams wants to stand but Connors has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Connors not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Williams trying to control but Connors is working from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Williams gets a takedown into half guard.
Williams controlling the action here.
Williams tries to pass to full mount but Connors defends it.
Connors is staying active underneath Williams, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Williams is stalling here. Connors is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Williams seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Connors has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Williams can't do much from the bottom here.
Williams is trying to get back to half guard.
Williams tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Connors presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Connors prevents Williams from getting the reversal.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Williams is working hard here to advance position.

Daniel Connors has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Ben Williams is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Connors avoids the attempt from Williams to control.

Ben Williams showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Williams has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
