Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benson Hedges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Eldridge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Michael Eldridge enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Benson Hedges! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Eldridge! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Russell Pearce and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hedges throws a one two combo.
Eldridge throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Hedges counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hedges moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Eldridge avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hedges fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Eldridge looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Eldridge walks into a stiff left hand from Hedges. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hedges stalks Eldridge and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Eldridge's face. Eldridge staggers backwards, shaken. Hedges throws a combination that misses and Eldridge moves into the clinch. Eldridge wants to break free but Hedges has control.
Eldridge drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hedges gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Eldridge wants to get back to striking at distance but Hedges won't allow it.
Eldridge keeps control of Hedges as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Eldridge is working for takedown but Hedges is calmly controlling the position for now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eldridge gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Eldridge looks gassed! Hedges keeping control of the position. Eldridge with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Hedges wants to control but Eldridge is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Eldridge slips a nice elbow through Hedges's hands, connecting with Hedges's forehead. Hedges landing rabbit punches to the side of Eldridge's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hedges is trying to maintain the position but Eldridge is very close to passing his half guard. Hedges wants to get back to full guard. Hedges avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Eldridge. Hedges is staying active underneath Eldridge, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hedges is trying to control but can't.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Eldridge takes one to the chin there. Hedges misses with a double jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Good exchange - Hedges coming out on top. Eldridge ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hedges moves away. Hedges throws a series of strikes that have Eldridge backpedaling.

Hedges lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Eldridge circles away quickly and effectively. Hedges falls off balance throwing a combination
and Eldridge counters with a slapping leg kick. Hedges tries to bum rush Eldridge with a series of wild strikes but Eldridge uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Eldridge scores with a nice strike. Eldridge tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hedges counters with a lovely straight right hand! Hedges throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Eldridge counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hedges pushes Eldridge off and gets back to his feet. Eldridge gets in close and instigates a clinch. Eldridge manages to break the clinch.
Benson Hedges seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hedges shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Eldridge scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Eldridge prevents Hedges from standing back up.
Eldridge throwing shots but Hedges is blocking nicely. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Eldridge wants to control but Hedges is keeping him busy. That was a close round but I would say that Benson Hedges will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Eldridge shoots in but no luck this time. Hedges keeps the fight on the outside. A combination from Hedges does no damage. Hedges is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches. The fight stays on the outside here - Eldridge looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Benson Hedges is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Eldridge tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hedges paws at him with a jab and circles away. Hedges takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Hedges looks to land a combination. Eldridge sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Eldridge tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hedges counters with a two punch combo. Eldridge will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hedges scores with a punch to the head. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Eldridge is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hedges sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Benson Hedges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Eldridge. Hedges moves into range and connects with a jab. Hedges connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Eldridge's hands. Hedges throws a right hand that Eldridge ducks under and follows up with a left that Eldridge also avoids with ease. Hedges keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Eldridge dodges the punch combination from Hedges.
Eldridge gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Eldridge has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hedges avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Eldridge breaks from the clinch.

Eldridge changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hedges looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Eldridge throws a strike aimed at the side of Hedges's head but Hedges avoids it well. Hedges is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Hedges gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there! Eldridge has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hedges is trying to escape the mount.

Michael Eldridge showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Eldridge takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Eldridge is looking to clinch but Hedges is avoiding it.
