Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marshall Law! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joonas Peuralinna! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peuralinna fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A solid leg kick lands there for Law.
Law ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Peuralinna moves away. Law closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Law lands strikes from half guard. Law controlling the action here. Peuralinna is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Law is looking to take a break and control but Peuralinna is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Law prevents Peuralinna from improving his position. Law thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Law controlling the action here. Law wants to work for an arm triangle but Peuralinna is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Law scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Peuralinna is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Law is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Law controlling from mount. Law prevents Peuralinna from getting the reversal. Peuralinna is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Peuralinna looks gassed! Law sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Law looking to control but Peuralinna is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Law is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Law is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Peuralinna is looking to improve his position but Law isn't that keen on the idea. Law cracks Peuralinna with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Peuralinna throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Law with shots to the head and body - Peuralinna looks very uncomfortable down there. Peuralinna is wriggling around trying to escape.
Law is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Peuralinna can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Law landing strikes, looking to finish! Peuralinna really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Law looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Law fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Peuralinna slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Law seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Peuralinna looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Law stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peuralinna swivels though and keeps the full guard. Peuralinna trying to keep a closed guard but Law is proving a slippery customer.
Peuralinna looking for a sweep. Not yet Peuralinna, not yet. Law tries to free his leg and advance position but Peuralinna is retaining full guard. Peuralinna throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Peuralinna manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Law's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marshall Law dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Law misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Law connects with a jab. Law looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Peuralinna! Law controlling the position easily from mount. Peuralinna slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Law stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Peuralinna to get to his feet. Law changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Peuralinna looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Law looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Peuralinna tries to get back to half guard but can't. Peuralinna is breathing heavily. Peuralinna takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Marshall Law overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Law lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Law wants to control but Peuralinna is keeping him busy. Law wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Peuralinna, who protects the arm well.
