Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Mir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Vance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lance Vance! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mir changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vance looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Mir decides to stand back up. Mir steps back and let's Vance get back to his feet. Mir shoots in for a double leg but Vance sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Vance throws a leg kick but Mir sees it coming and moves out of range. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mir. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Vance tries to clinch but Mir is having none of it. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Mir is defended easily by Vance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mir is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vance sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vance swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Vance checks a low kick from Mir. No joy there for Vance, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vance goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. An inside leg kick lands from Vance. Mir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vance tries to get to full guard but Mir has control of the leg.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vance throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mir in particular looking to stall. Vance looks like he's trying to stand up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Mir feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Mir is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vance striking off his back but it's not causing Mir any problems. Mir trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Vance throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vance keeping full guard, as Mir tries to pass. Mir trying to control the position from guard on top but Vance is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mir stands up and waves to Vance to follow him. A nice leg kick lands there from Vance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Mir tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vance swivels and escapes. Good exchange - Vance coming out on top. Vance avoids a kick to the body.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Mir. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Mir dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Mir has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Mir fails with a takedown attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Mir. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mir shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vance pinned against the cage. Vance gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice leg kick lands there from Vance. Mir changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vance tries to avoid it but Mir manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vance to the ground. Vance escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Mir stuffs the takedown attempt from Vance. Vance gets slowly back to his feet. An inside leg kick lands from Vance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vance connects with a solid leg kick. Mir slips a jab and a cross from Vance.
Vance throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mir's head. A head kick from Vance lands but Mir takes it in his stride. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mir dodges the punch combination from Vance.
Mir takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Vance can pounce on him.
Vance tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Vance throws a right and a left that both miss. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mir. Vance fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Frank Mir is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vance tries to bum rush Mir with a series of wild strikes but Mir uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Vance - that will leave a mark!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mir tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Crunch! Vance slams his shin into Mir's torso. Vance with a lazy takedown attempt and Mir counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Vance's guard now. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Vance looking for a sweep. Not yet Vance, not yet. Mir trying to control but Vance is working from the bottom. Mir stops Vance from standing up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vance wants to sweep but no luck. Vance wants to stand up but Mir is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lance Vance showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Mir shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Vance counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vance cracks the inside of Mir's front leg. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mir looks for a takedown but Vance sprawls well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vance lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mir circles away quickly and effectively. Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mir showed some decent athleticism there. Vance wants to get back to his feet.
Vance is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mir working Vance over with strikes. Mir lands strikes from half guard. Mir stops Vance from getting back to his feet.
Mir looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Mir is working for a submission of some sort.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mir not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Vance actively working from the bottom here. Vance wants to get back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mir fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mir on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Vance. Vance obviously looking to wear him down.
Mir is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Vance's half guard.

Vance is refusing to be controlled, as Mir sits in half guard. Mir is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Vance doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mir. Mir looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
And that's the end of the fight! Frank Mir showed his dominance in that final round. I think Mir has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
