Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Travis Cote! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cote keeps the fight on the outside. Carandang tries to clinch but Cote is having none of it. Cote scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Carandang controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Carandang trying to control but Cote postures up.
Cote throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Cote is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Carandang pushes Cote off but Cote dives into side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Cote tries to keep at a distance but Carandang has taken the fight into the clinch. Carandang tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
A frustrated look appears on Carandang's face as he tries to break the clinch. Cote pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Carandang with a lazy takedown attempt and Cote counters with a takedown into side control. Carandang is letting Cote control him for a moment. Carandang gets back to half guard. Cote wants to stand but Carandang has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Cote closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cote lands in his opponent's guard. Carandang trying to keep a closed guard but Cote is proving a slippery customer.

Travis Cote dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Carandang with a poor takedown and Cote counters with a one-two to the body. Carandang with a lazy takedown attempt and Cote counters with a shoot takedown. Carandang fights it but they end up in guard. Cote working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carandang's head. Cote decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Carandang, up you get! Cote closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Cote really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carandang. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Cote takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Cote wants to lay and pray for a moment but Carandang keeps working. Carandang looking to sit in guard and control but Cote gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Carandang is looking to stand up but Cote isn't so interested in that idea. Cote stopping the sweep attempt from Carandang. Cote lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Not particularly brutal. Cote pushing down on Carandang's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Cote is looking to take a break and control but Carandang is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Cote seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carandang tries to clinch but Cote moves away and Cote counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Carandang working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cote doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cote manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Cote is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Carandang looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cote is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Cote postures up and lands a big shot to Carandang's brow. Cote is working Carandang over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Carandang escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cote gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Cote drops back looking for a leg! Carandang is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Carandang manages to kick Cote off! Cote jumps back into Carandang's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Carandang working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Travis Cote showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Carandang's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Carandang tries to clinch but Cote moves away and Cote counters with a nice double leg into guard. Carandang wriggles free and stands up. Cote throws a series of strikes that have Carandang backpedaling.

and Cote counters with a good low kick that Carandang was not able to check. Cote throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Carandang was covering up waiting for the punch and Cote finishes the takedown easily into guard. Cote is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Carandang has his foot on Cote's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cote works his way back into a safe position though. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Carandang keeping moving, preventing Cote from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carandang has a closed guard, preventing Cote from standing up. Cote postures up.
Cote trying to control but Carandang is working from the bottom. Carandang is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cote defends well. Carandang had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Cote is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Carandang Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Cote's back instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carandang looking for the choke from the back. Carandang looking for the RNC. Cote is keeping busy.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cote defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Carandang's arms. Cote trying to control the position but Carandang manages to sink in the hooks. Carandang is working the ground and pound. Can Cote escape? Cote rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Travis Cote. Well Cote has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
