Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Reese McLeod!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Corey Baas!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McLeod doesn't manage to clinch there - Baas circles away.
Baas shoots in but McLeod avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Baas should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Baas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but McLeod swivels and escapes.
Reese McLeod has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Corey Baas.
McLeod tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Baas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Baas tries for a takedown but McLeod sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Baas dives in and grabs McLeod's left leg, looking for a takedown. McLeod pushes down on Baas's head and hops out.
Baas fails to land the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baas shoots in but McLeod avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Baas shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says McLeod as he avoids it easily.
McLeod throws a series of strikes that have Baas backpedaling.
Baas looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
McLeod tries to close the distance and clinch up but Baas swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McLeod doesn't manage to clinch there - Baas circles away.
McLeod throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Baas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
A right-left combo lands from McLeod.

McLeod gets in close and instigates a clinch.

McLeod gets control of Baas's arms and successfully pulls guard. McLeod will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McLeod wants to stand but Baas is controlling the position.

McLeod looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

McLeod is looking to stand up but Baas isn't so interested in that idea.

Baas wants to control from the top but McLeod keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McLeod is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Reese McLeod dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


McLeod lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
McLeod fails with an attempt to clinch.
Baas fails to land the takedown.
McLeod fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
McLeod displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Baas.

Baas closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. McLeod did well to prevent Baas getting side control.

Baas prevents McLeod from improving his position.
McLeod wants to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McLeod manages to get to full guard.
Baas looking to sit in guard and control but McLeod gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Baas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Reese McLeod will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Baas closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Baas lands in his opponent's guard.
Baas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Baas sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Baas trying to control the position from guard on top but McLeod is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Baas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McLeod wants to get back to his feet but Baas is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McLeod keeping moving, preventing Baas from controlling successfully.

And that's the end of the fight!
Corey Baas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think McLeod has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
