PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Oskar Forsberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urubu Rei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Urubu Rei told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Urubu Rei!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rei shoots in and drives through. Forsberg sprawls well.
Urubu Rei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Forsberg stuffs the takedown attempt from Rei. Rei gets slowly back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rei shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Forsberg as he jumps to the side.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Rei tries to score a power double leg takedown but Forsberg sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rei somewhat.

Forsberg will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Forsberg misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Urubu Rei showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Rei closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Rei is nestled in close to Forsberg, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Urubu Rei comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rei has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
