Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Phosphate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Pickett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Phosphate! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brad Pickett! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phosphate shoots in for a double leg but Pickett sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Phosphate scores with a hook to the body. Pickett takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Phosphate throws a right and a left that Pickett avoids nicely. Phosphate fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pickett sprawls well initially but Phosphate persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Phosphate is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Phosphate prevents Pickett from improving his position. Pickett on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Pickett controlling the position for now. Phosphate lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Pickett is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Phosphate thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Pickett tries to get to full guard but Phosphate has control of the leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pickett looking for submissions off his back. Pickett moves into full guard.
Phosphate got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pickett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Phosphate has managed to get both his arms back between Pickett's legs - danger averted. Phosphate is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pickett is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pickett has escaped and now he's on top! Phosphate is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Phosphate is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Pickett is aware though and is defending well. Pickett preventing the sweep. Phosphate wants to get back to his feet but Pickett is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Pickett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pickett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Phosphate scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Brad Pickett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Phosphate is breathing heavily. Phosphate drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pickett wants to control but Phosphate postures up. Pickett sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Phosphate is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pickett defends it well. Pickett works his way to full guard. Good work. Phosphate trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Pickett had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Phosphate is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Pickett Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Phosphate's back instead. Phosphate manages to reverse the position and now he's in Pickett's guard. Nice work there by Phosphate.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Phosphate postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Phosphate drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Phosphate jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Phosphate is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Phosphate is in close to Pickett's body, working some short punches and elbows. Phosphate wants to get up but he can't break Pickett's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Pickett looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Phosphate landing some decent shots from guard. Phosphate lands a couple of digs. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pickett moves in looking to clinch but Phosphate pushes him off. Phosphate looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. The fight stays on the outside here - Pickett looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A shot to de liver by Pickett. Beautiful body shot. Pickett swings and misses with a shot to the body so Phosphate counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pickett working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Phosphate. Phosphate wants to get up but he can't break Pickett's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Phosphate gets to his feet. Pickett looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Phosphate fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Pickett looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Phosphate is fending him off so far but Pickett persists. Nope, Phosphate circles away and we're back to standing. Phosphate shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Pickett has hold of Phosphate's hands but Phosphate slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pickett is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Phosphate pulls his head out easily. Phosphate is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Pickett avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Phosphate. Phosphate uses his free foot to push down on Pickett's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Pickett.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Pickett is squirming around, avoiding Phosphate's attempts to control the action. Phosphate cracks Pickett with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pickett wants to control but Phosphate is having none of it. Phosphate postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Pickett looks a forlorn figure.
Pickett is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Phosphate with a couple of short strikes. Phosphate landing strikes from the mount and Pickett is in trouble! Pickett is in a horrible position here. Phosphate smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Phosphate has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Pickett. Pickett grimaces as he takes a shot to the body. Pickett fending off the submission attempt from Phosphate. Pickett trying to control the position but Phosphate manages to sink in the hooks. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pickett lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Phosphate circles away quickly and effectively. Phosphate bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Phosphate landing a few strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Phosphate stands up. Pickett shoots in and drives through. Phosphate sprawls well. Phosphate dips to his left and cracks Pickett with an uppercut! The fight stays on the outside here - Phosphate looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Phosphate shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pickett napping and manages to drive through into side control! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Phosphate fails to land the takedown. John Phosphate is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Phosphate. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pickett moves in looking to clinch but Phosphate pushes him off.
And that's the end of the fight! John Phosphate showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Phosphate, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
