Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Micky Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and michael murta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micky Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, michael murta!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
murta wants to clinch.
Henry swings for the body but murta moves out of range.
murta misses with a telegraphed body shot

so Henry counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
murta is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
murta bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Henry's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Henry is trying to keep murta in close.

Henry is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Henry is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst murta is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

murta lands a couple of elbows.
murta wants to get up but he can't break Henry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Henry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

murta wants to control from the top but Henry keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
murta wants to clinch but Henry slips to the side

and Henry decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in murta's guard.
murta is trying to control the position but Henry postures up.
murta wants to sweep but no luck.

Henry is breathing heavily.

murta should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Henry is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Henry counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for murta!
Henry throws a sloppy strike and murta uses the opportunity to reverse the position! A bit of a scramble here and murta has ended up in Henry's guard.

Henry is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
murta sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Henry's guard.

murta is just content to waste time from the top position. Henry takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Henry has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but murta can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
murta wants to control from the top but Henry keeps moving.

That's time! Henry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Henry stands up from murta's guard - Henry perhaps looking for a knockout.

Henry darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

murta tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Henry has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Henry lands a big elbow.
Henry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
BOOM! Henry connects with a massive shot to the dome!
murta is trying to reverse the position but instead Henry has taken his back - oops!
murta holding both Henry 's hands and preventing any damage.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Henry looking for the choke but no joy.
murta trying to control the hands but Henry won't let him.
murta might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Henry kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

I really don't envy murta right now.
Henry tries to get the hooks in deep but murta pushed the leg off.
Henry throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting murta!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Henry has the hooks in. murta is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

murta is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
murta is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

That's time! Henry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


murta doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Henry counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Henry closes the distance and clinches.
Henry wants to break the clinch but can't.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - murta has eaten all the pies!
murta trying to control the position but instead, Henry has worked for underhooks and has pushed murta into the cage.

Henry has murta pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Henry pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending murta tumbling to the mat - Henry dives into murta's guard.
Henry slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Henry throws a big right hand that misses.

murta is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

murta manages to break the clinch.
Micky Henry is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and murta counters by clinching up.

Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Henry drops to a knee looking for a takedown but murta gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micky Henry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
murta is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Henry is defending well for now.

Henry has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. murta avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Henry tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. murta smiles and moves away.

and Henry counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Henry counters with a takedown into side control.

Henry is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. murta knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Henry wants to control but murta is keeping him busy.

murta struggling a bit here.
murta is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Henry is controlling him well.
murta is trying to escape the position but Henry is controlling the position.
michael murta has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Micky Henry is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
murta takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Micky Henry showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Henry has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
