Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
johnson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cruz to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Cruz has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of johnson is proving hard to escape from.
Cruz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
johnson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Cruz has passed into half guard!
Cruz is keen to just control but johnson is a slippery customer.
Cruz is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

johnson is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Cruz manages to get to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cruz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. johnson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

johnson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
johnson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cruz does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

johnson thows a huge punch but Cruz dodges it nicely.

Cruz closes this distance looking for a takedown but johnson circles away.

Cruz gets control of johnson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Cruz will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

johnson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Cruz has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Cruz!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cruz stands up from johnson's guard - Cruz perhaps looking for a knockout.
Cruz drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Cruz wants to stand but johnson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Cruz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Cruz turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Some wild striking there from johnson.
Cruz has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cruz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown by Cruz or perhaps it was just good defense by johnson which made him look bad.
johnson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cruz was well out of range. Poor timing from johnson.
A combination from johnson does no damage.
A slapping leg kick lands for johnson.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Cruz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Cruz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cruz is working for a submission of some sort.
johnson is trying to control but can't.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
johnson tries to kick Cruz off but Cruz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Cruz tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
johnson wants to break free but Cruz has control.
johnson has had enough of the clinch but Cruz keeps him there for the moment.
johnson stops a takedown attempt from Cruz.
johnson pulls guard effortlessly.
Cruz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cruz forces his way into half guard.

johnson is trying to stand up here but Cruz is controlling him well.
Cruz is controlling the pace.
Cruz landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Frank Cruz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

and Cruz counters with a single leg into guard. johnson didn't expect that.
johnson wants to stand but Cruz is controlling the position.

Cruz got a little sloppy there for a moment and johnson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cruz has managed to get both his arms back between johnson's legs - danger averted.
Cruz stays in close to johnson's body and controls the position.
