Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Colm Quinn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shelton Lane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shelton Lane is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Colm Quinn !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shelton Lane!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Quinn fails with an attempt to clinch.

Quinn gets a clinch.
Lane drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Quinn misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Quinn is trying to break free.

Lane successfully pulls guard.
Quinn wanted to stand there but Lane had control of the position.

Lane working for a triangle but Quinn defends it easily.
Quinn controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lane wants to control the position but Quinn says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lane gets full guard.
Quinn slips nicely into half guard.
Lane is trying to stand.
Quinn passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lane!
Quinn lands with some strikes.

Quinn looking to control and managing it successfully.
Quinn lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lane holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Quinn tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Quinn goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lane is on top in guard.

Quinn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Lane passes Quinn 's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Quinn keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Quinn is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Lane pulls his head out easily.
Quinn is breathing heavily.
Quinn wants to get back to his feet.
Lane seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Quinn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Quinn is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lane is looking to take a break and control but Quinn is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lane seems to be working for a kimura but Quinn defends the submission attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Quinn tries a head kick but it misses.
Lane avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Colm Quinn dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lane blocks a head kick by Quinn .
Quinn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lane as he jumps to the side.
Lane throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Quinn 's head.

Lane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Quinn throws a strike from the bottom but Lane passes into side control!
Lane trying to control the position but Quinn is working away.
Quinn manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Nice strikes from Quinn there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Quinn wants to take a breather but Lane is having none of it.
Quinn content to control rather than advance.

Quinn stands up and beckons Lane to join him on the feet.

and Lane counters with a takedown into side control.
Quinn tries to buck Lane off but Lane is having none of it.

Lane looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Lane goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Quinn rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lane's guard! Nice work there by Quinn !

Lane keeping moving, preventing Quinn from controlling successfully.
Quinn slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lane is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Quinn is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lane keeping moving, preventing Quinn from controlling successfully.
Quinn throwing strikes but missing.
Lane tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Quinn advances position into side control!
Lane is looking to regain half guard here but Quinn keeps moving and retains side control.
Quinn just content to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Quinn trying to control the position but Lane is working away.
Lane is looking for a sweep.

Quinn stands up and beckons Lane to his feet.
Quinn throws a sloppy head kick and Lane moves out of range easily.
Quinn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lane's waist but Lane gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quinn off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Colm Quinn . That's going to take a lot out of him.

Lane forces Quinn back against the cage and clinches.

Lane breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Quinn shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lane's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shelton Lane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Quinn closes the distance and clinches.

Lane has picked Quinn up - he's going for a ride! Lane dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Quinn makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Quinn .
Quinn looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Lane puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Quinn moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Quinn looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Lane drops back, looking for a kneebar! Quinn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Quinn looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Quinn !
Quinn just content to control the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Quinn is looking to take a break and control but Lane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Quinn decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lane to his feet.
Lane tries to clinch up but Quinn circles away and keeps his distance.

and Quinn counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Quinn lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Lane is trying to get back to full guard.
Lane is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Quinn 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Quinn 's back!
The referee is taking a good look at Quinn as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Lane!
Quinn trying to control the action but Lane just sinks the hooks in.
Quinn prevents Lane from getting a body triangle.

Lane is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Quinn is defending well though. Lane let's go of the attempt for now.

Lane working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Lane working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Quinn is doing well to defend. Lane seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Quinn is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:43 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Shelton Lane!
