A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Payton shoots in for a double leg but Brow sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Brow scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Brow throws a strike aimed at the side of Payton's head but Payton avoids it well.
Payton can't do much from the bottom here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Payton can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brow tries to score with some ground and pound. Payton controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brow is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Payton knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Brow creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Brow lands an elbow.
Brow sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Payton is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Brow is working to tighten is grip on Payton's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Payton has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Brow is really squeezing tight and eventually Payton passes out! Brow breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
