The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice straight punches there by Belfort. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Belfort.
Belfort drops Maia with a big left hand and mounts him. Maia is in big trouble!
Maia is rocked!
It looks like Forrest Maia has been cut.
Maia tries to hold on but Belfort postures up.
Maia keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Maia wants to control but Belfort is having none of it.
Maia is wriggling around trying to escape.
Belfort controlling the pace for now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maia is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maia is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Maia working to try and regain half guard.
Belfort controlling his opponent.
Maia wants to hold on but Belfort pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Forrest Maia just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Maia shoots in but Belfort avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Belfort is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Belfort misses with a looping left.
Belfort throws a monster overhand right that drops Maia! Belfort follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
