PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between rez chrome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and jerome pogi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying pogi's choice of entrance music: nobody. rez chrome has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, rez chrome!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, jerome pogi!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Kenichi Hosakawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
pogi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with chrome but chrome pushes him off and we're back to square one.
chrome tries to close the distance and clinch up but pogi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

chrome forces pogi back against the cage and clinches.

chrome pulls guard successfully.
pogi wants to stand and escape but instead chrome has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
chrome trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

chrome drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and chrome jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
pogi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst chrome is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
pogi controls chrome momentarily but chrome frees himself.

That's one minute gone in the round.

pogi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. chrome gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
pogi looks gassed!
chrome sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed pogi's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

chrome is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and pogi defends it well.

chrome stands up out of the half guard.
pogi looking to land some kicks to the body here.

chrome bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
pogi takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

chrome decides to stand up, so the ref orders pogi to his feet.
pogi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

chrome clinches up against the cage.
chrome creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through pogi's defenses.

chrome gets a trip takedown into half guard.
pogi is trying to escape back to his feet but chrome uses the scramble to pass into side control.
pogi tries to get back to half guard but can't.

chrome is working to tighten is grip on pogi's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. pogi has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but chrome is really squeezing tight and eventually pogi passes out! chrome breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
