The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Lavigne as black shoots in.
black shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lavigne sprawls well. Lavigne wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. black gets slowly back to his feet.
black closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
black drags the fight down to the ground.
Lavigne throwing strikes from guard but black blocks nicely.
Lavigne wants to pass the guard but black is keeping the position.
Lavigne drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but black manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lavigne has black in his guard.
black has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Lavigne to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! black is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Lavigne pulls down on the head and he's put black to sleep! This one is all over!
