PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Bisping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caesar II (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying II's choice of entrance music: Green Day - Know your enemy. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Bisping!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Caesar II!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bisping throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bisping uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Bisping throws a series of punches but II avoids them all with ease.
Bisping circles away from the clinch attempt.
II tries to clinch up.
Bisping misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bisping has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by II.
Bisping lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but II circles away quickly and effectively.
Bisping circles away from the clinch attempt.
II dodges the punch combination from Bisping.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from II.
Bisping keeps the fight on the outside.
II tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Bisping paws at him with a jab and circles away.
II lands with a straight right. Bisping didn't see that one coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bisping scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
II tries to clinch but Bisping is having none of it.
Bisping throws a series of punches but II moves out of range.

II fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bisping, pushing him back against the ropes.
Bisping is trying to break the clinch but II is controlling him.
II lands a good knee to the midsection. Bisping won't want to take too many of those.

That's one minute gone in the round.

II escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
II dodges the punch combination from Bisping.
Bisping is breathing heavily.

II clinches up against the ropes.
II has Bisping pressed against the ropes, preventing Bisping from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
II drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nice elbow from II.
Bisping takes a knee right on the jaw!
II prevents Bisping from breaking the clinch.
II lands a body punch in the clinch.
II looking to slow down the pace here.
II is stalling here.
II is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
II seems frustrated at his inability to get double underhooks.
Bisping wants to get back to striking at distance but II won't allow it.
II stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Bisping wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but II has him pressed against the ropes.

II breaks the clinch.
II fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Michael Bisping has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Caesar II.
Bisping misses with the combination.

Bisping throws a nice looking combination but II bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
II tries to close the distance and clinch but Bisping swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
II is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bisping will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from II.
Bisping tests II's chin there with a solid looking shot.
II doesn't manage to clinch there - Bisping circles away.
II fails with an attempt to clinch.
Bisping looks to land a combination but II avoids it well.
II tries to clinch but Bisping moves out of range.
No joy there for Bisping, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

II fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bisping avoids it really well and circles away.
II connects with a solid leg kick.
Bisping throws a leg kick
and II counters with a head kick. That will keep Bisping thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

II fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bisping sprawls well initially but II persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
II prevents Bisping from improving his position.
II stalling away here and it's allowed Bisping to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Bisping is looking to stand up but II isn't so interested in that idea.
II trying to control the position from guard on top but Bisping is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bisping trying to keep a closed guard but II is proving a slippery customer.
Bisping seems keen to control II's posture.

Bisping manages to escape and get back to his feet.
II ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

II changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Bisping looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bisping is looking to work his way out of this bad position but II is controlling him well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bisping is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Bisping wants to control but II postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Caesar II dominated that round.
That's time! Bisping's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Bisping tries to circle away but II has him pinned against the ropes.

Bisping breaks the clinch.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Bisping!

and II counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


Bisping is rocked!

II gets a big slam - oh, Bisping is out! Bisping is out! That's a nasty KO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Caesar II!
