Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brody Savanis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jorge Samuel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Samuel is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Our Dreams. Jorge Samuel is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brody Savanis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jorge Samuel! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Savanis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Savanis throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Savanis keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Savanis wants to clinch up but Samuel keeps it at a distance. Samuel closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Samuel lands in his opponent's guard. Samuel advances to half guard. Savanis trying to control here.
Samuel throwing shots but Savanis is blocking nicely. Samuel working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Samuel works his way into full mount! Savanis is looking to improve his position but Samuel isn't that keen on the idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Samuel lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Samuel working for a guillotine from mount but Savanis is in no mood to give up. Samuel is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Savanis can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Samuel landing strikes from the mount. Samuel lands with some strikes. Samuel has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Savanis is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Savanis working to try and regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samuel wants to control the pace but Savanis is squirming around nicely. Savanis is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Savanis is looking to improve his position but Samuel isn't that keen on the idea. Savanis is breathing heavily. Samuel unloading with bombs! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Samuel. Savanis is desperately trying to improve his position but Samuel has a good base and remains in mount. Savanis tries to hold on but Samuel postures up. Samuel scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Savanis throwing hammer fists to the chest of Samuel. What's that going to do exactly? Savanis swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Samuel with the ground and pound from mount. Savanis takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Savanis is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Samuel landing strikes from the mount and Savanis is in trouble! Samuel in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Samuel looking to finish Savanis with some ground and pound. This is bad for Savanis! This has been an exciting period of action! Samuel postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Savanis looks a forlorn figure.
Samuel looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Samuel with a couple of short strikes. Samuel has hold of Savanis's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Savanis manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Samuel postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Savanis looks a forlorn figure.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Samuel working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jorge Samuel dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Samuel darts in and clinches Savanis up against the cage. Samuel is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Savanis gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Savanis jumps into guard, dragging Samuel to the mat.
Savanis preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Samuel postures up and lands a big shot to Savanis's brow. Samuel looking to sit in guard and control but Savanis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Savanis throwing strikes but missing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Savanis avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Samuel throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Savanis escapes and throws Samuel's legs to the side, diving into side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Savanis decides to take the fight back to the feet. Samuel fails to land the takedown. Savanis sizes up Samuel with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Savanis misses with a head kick.
Samuel shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Savanis trying to control here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Samuel takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Samuel is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Savanis tries to kick Samuel off but Samuel keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Savanis blocking the ground and pound attempt from Samuel. Samuel winds up and cracks Savanis with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Samuel passes into side control, despite Savanis's attempt to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Savanis is looking for a sweep. Samuel is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Savanis is trying to escape and Samuel transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Savanis is forced to tap! Nice work there by Samuel! Very nice indeed!
