PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm X (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and chuck bisbing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Malcolm X!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, chuck bisbing!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by X. That's going to slow bisbing down.

X drives through and clinches with bisbing against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for bisbing.

bisbing has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics X uses from the top position.
X wants to get up but he can't break bisbing's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
bisbing pulls X in close to prevent any damage.
bisbing looking to control.
bisbing wants to sweep but no luck.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as X accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
X being controlled here momentarily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

X wants to clinch

and bisbing counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by bisbing.

X gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, bisbing regains guard.
X is fighting to break bisbing's control of his arms but bisbing is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if bisbing can do anything to dispel that myth.
bisbing is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Despite being in the dominant position, chuck bisbing just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
bisbing throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around X's waist but X gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing bisbing off to one side.

X closes the distance and clinches.

X is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

X is desperately trying to improve his position but bisbing has a good base and remains in mount.

bisbing cracks X with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
bisbing takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
X's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

chuck bisbing showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


X scores with a head kick.
bisbing tries to clinch up.

bisbing closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
X tries to kick bisbing off but bisbing keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
bisbing missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
X pushes bisbing off looking to stand but bisbing dives back in and keeps control.

bisbing is figuring out what he wants to do next.
bisbing takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
bisbing seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

bisbing stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
X feints and then cracks bisbing's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow bisbing down.
X takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
X closes the distance but bisbing moves to the side

and bisbing counters with a nice double leg into guard.
bisbing stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. X swivels though and keeps the full guard.

X is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst bisbing is controlling him.
X keeping moving, preventing bisbing from controlling successfully.

X is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst bisbing is controlling him.
bisbing wants to control from the top but X keeps moving.
X wants to stand up but bisbing is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
X wants to clinch but bisbing slips to the side

and bisbing counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

X is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
bisbing jumps guard but X stands there with bisbing around his waist. bisbing gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
X looking to throw knees to the head but bisbing is blocking nicely.
Still in the clinch, X scores with a nice short uppercut.
X tries to land a knee to the head but bisbing blocks with his arms.

and bisbing counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for X!

Malcolm X has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

chuck bisbing comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
