Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Patryck Mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masakatsu Gomi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomi has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Masakatsu Gomi has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendes tries to close the distance and clinch but Gomi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mendes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gomi did well to prevent Mendes getting side control.

Mendes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gomi sees it coming and defends easily.
Gomi regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Mendes.

Gomi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Gomi is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Gomi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Mendes throws a strike but Gomi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Mendes has an active guard here but Gomi has managed to pass into half guard.

Mendes is trying to stand back up but Gomi is controlling him
Mendes wants to improve his position but Gomi is controlling well.
Mendes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gomi on the ground.

Gomi jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Mendes is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Mendes and Gomi has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Gomi tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gomi has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mendes is trying to improve his position.

Mendes tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Gomi is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Mendes is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Mendes flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gomi anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Mendes and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gomi slips an arm under Mendes chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gomi has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gomi is squeezing on Mendes like an anaconda would it's prey. Mendes fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
