The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hickey throws a head kick but Kennedy moves out of range.
Hickey doesn't manage to clinch there - Kennedy circles away.
Kennedy fails to land the takedown.
Kennedy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Hickey rushes Kennedy and presses him up against the cage.

Hickey pulls Kennedy into guard.
Kennedy thows a big elbow that misses.
Hickey is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kennedy looking to sit in guard and control but Hickey gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hickey passes Kennedy's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hickey takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Kennedy is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hickey pulls his head out easily.
Kennedy is breathing heavily.

Hickey is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kennedy defends it well.

Kennedy tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hickey has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Hickey looking to finish Kennedy with some ground and pound. This is bad for Kennedy!

Hickey tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Hickey throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Kennedy has his hands clasped together but Hickey breaks the hold and Kennedy is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Hickey!
