Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jefrey Van Bone! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jason Deck! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deck gets caught flat footed, as Van Bone shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Van Bone tries to free his leg and advance position but Deck is retaining full guard. Van Bone is fighting to break Deck's control of his arms but Deck is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Van Bone drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Van Bone jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Deck is on top in guard.
Van Bone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Deck defends well. Deck trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Bone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Van Bone escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Van Bone is breathing heavily. Van Bone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Deck defends well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deck not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Van Bone has his foot on Deck's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Deck works his way back into a safe position though. Deck sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jason Deck just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Van Bone ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jason Deck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Deck throws a big shot that misses. Van Bone blocks a jab. Van Bone uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Deck. Deck misses with an uppercut. Van Bone saw that one coming. Van Bone ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Jason Deck is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Van Bone shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Deck sprawls well. Deck wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Van Bone gets slowly back to his feet. Deck pushing out the jab but it's not landing. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Van Bone uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Deck. Van Bone fails with the takedown. Deck missing with a left hand there. Van Bone was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Bone slips a jab from Deck. Deck throws a jab but it's blocked by Van Bone. Van Bone takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Deck misses with a straight left. Van Bone moves out of range of the strikes. Deck looks to land a left hand but Van Bone moved out of range nicely. Deck throws a hook to the side of Van Bone's head but Van Bone sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Deck loads up on a big right hand but Van Bone slips the punch. Deck is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Van Bone fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jefrey Van Bone. That's going to take a lot out of him. Deck steps into range and cracks Van Bone with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Van Bone flops backwards and Deck dives into his guard looking to finish!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Deck is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Deck advances to half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Deck in particular looking to stall. Van Bone wants to get back to full guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Deck seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Deck is taking a breather. Van Bone says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Let's hope that Deck has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Deck wants to pass the guard but Van Bone is defending well. Deck looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Van Bone looking for submissions off his back. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Van Bone is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Deck pulls his head out easily. Van Bone actively working from the bottom here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Van Bone slips a jab from Deck. Deck misses with a straight right. A telegraphed right hand from Deck misses the target. Deck loads up on a big right hand but Van Bone slips the punch. Van Bone displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Deck throws out the jab. Van Bone misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Deck looks to land a left hand but Van Bone moved out of range nicely. Van Bone fails with a takedown attempt from distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Van Bone slips under a jab. Van Bone slips under a jab. Van Bone has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Deck finds it's way round the side to connect with Van Bone's head. Van Bone shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Van Bone was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Deck sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Bone prevents Deck from improving his position. Deck is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Van Bone's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Van Bone's back! Deck biding his time, looking for the opening.
Van Bone manages to reverse the position and now he's in Deck's guard. Nice work there by Van Bone.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Deck controlling the position. Deck looking to hit a scissor sweep but Van Bone is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Van Bone thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Deck throws a hook but Van Bone blocks it. Van Bone slips a jab from Deck. Deck cracks Van Bone with a good jab. Deck misses with a hook. Van Bone ducks under a wild hook from Deck. Deck connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Deck fails in his attempt to clinch.

Deck sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Van Bone is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Deck sees it coming and defends easily. Deck is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Van Bone is staying active. Van Bone seems to be working for a kimura but Deck defends the submission attempt. Deck keeps control of the position for the meantime. Van Bone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Deck is just riding it out for now. Van Bone eventually gives up the hold.

Jason Deck showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

He's got his arms around Deck's waist but Deck gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Van Bone off to one side. Van Bone takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Van Bone shoots in for a takedown but Deck shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Deck misses with a straight left. Deck scores with a decent looking hook. Deck lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Deck throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Van Bone steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Deck. Deck might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Van Bone staying out of range there. Deck misses the jab. Deck missing with a left hand there. Van Bone was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Deck lands a head shot.

And that's the end of the fight! Jason Deck comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Deck has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
