Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ivan Bruno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Latrice Poole! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poole fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Poole fails to land the takedown. Bruno clinches up with Poole and pushes him back against the cage. Poole jumps guard but Bruno stands there with Poole around his waist. Poole gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ivan Bruno has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Latrice Poole. Come on Bruno - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bruno misses with a knee to the head. Poole goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bruno prevents it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poole can't break the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Bruno scores with a nice short uppercut. Bruno with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Poole tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bruno smiles and moves away.
Poole looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Poole shoots in and drives through. Bruno sprawls well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bruno tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Poole paws at him with a jab and circles away. Poole closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bruno to the mat! Bruno manages to get full guard. Bruno kicks Poole off and gets to his feet. Bruno leaves Poole with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Poole looks gassed! Bruno moves into the clinch. Poole wants a takedown but no success here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruno pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Poole takes a knee right on the jaw!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Poole tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bruno smiles and moves away.
Poole fails with the takedown. Bruno drives through and clinches with Poole against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Bruno scores with a knee to the head.

Bruno lands with a short shot to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Bruno dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bruno plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Latrice Poole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Poole shoots in for a takedown but Bruno shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Bruno darts in and clinches Poole up against the cage. Bruno pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. No luck with that takedown attempt from Poole. Bruno takes the fight into the clinch. Bruno breaks the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poole tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bruno counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Poole is breathing heavily. Poole wants to control the position but Bruno says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Poole trying to control from the bottom.
Poole tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Bruno manages to move to mount!
Bruno wants to finish this one by submission but Poole is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Bruno. Poole is working to get back to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Poole manages to regain half guard. Good work. Bruno is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Poole sees it coming and defends easily. Poole has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bruno is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bruno escapes and gets back to his feet. Bruno drives through and clinches with Poole against the cage.

Bruno putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Poole in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bruno as Poole tries to tie him up. Poole is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ivan Bruno dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Bruno gets in close and instigates a clinch. Bruno decides to pull guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bruno is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Poole connects with a couple of short punches. Poole chips away with some ground and pound. Poole wants to control from the top but Bruno keeps moving. Poole must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Poole takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bruno kicks Poole off and gets to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poole fails with the takedown so Bruno counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bruno gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Poole keeps the fight on the outside. Poole shoots and misses and Bruno holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Bruno lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bruno pulls guard effortlessly. Bruno looking for a triangle here. Poole is fighting it but it looks tight! Bruno pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Poole is tapping out - this one is all over!
