Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jesus Cavalera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Artiom Nevar! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cavalera misses with a two punch combination.
Cavalera misses with a head kick.
Cavalera throws a right hand that Nevar ducks under and follows up with a left that Nevar also avoids with ease. Cavalera uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nevar. Cavalera fakes the leg kick and cracks Nevar in the body. Cavalera tries a head kick but it misses.
Nevar drops his hands momentarily and Cavalera takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Cavalera throws a head kick that misses. Cavalera blocks the body kick.
Nevar misses with a few strikes there.
A punch combination from Cavalera misses. Cavalera throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Nevar on the side of the head. This has been an exciting period of action! Nevar darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Nevar trying to control from half guard but Cavalera is working away. Nevar looks gassed! Cavalera blocking the ground and pound attempt from Nevar. Nevar stops Cavalera from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nevar throwing shots but Cavalera is blocking nicely. Nevar not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Cavalera wants to get back to his feet.
Cavalera has hold of Nevar's hands but Nevar slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Nevar missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Nevar lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Cavalera tries to land a front kick but Nevar steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Cavalera throws a sloppy head kick and Nevar moves out of range easily. Cavalera lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Nevar waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Cavalera. Jesus Cavalera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nevar just misses with a punch to the body.
Cavalera pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nevar moves out of range of the body kick from Cavalera.
Cavalera moves out of range of the strikes. Jab, jab by Cavalera - just one landing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cavalera circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Nevar drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Cavalera follows Nevar to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
