PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Igor Gorgov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Hug (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gorgov has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Gorgov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andy Hug!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hug shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gorgov defends it nicely.
Hug fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gorgov avoids it really well and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hug looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hug drops Gorgov with a left and a right! Oh, Gorgov is hurt - Hug dives into side control looking to finish!
Gorgov is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hug works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Gorgov is in a horrible position here. Hug smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Hug has control of Gorgov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gorgov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hug has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gorgov's face.
Hug lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Hug is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gorgov is surviving well by controlling Hug's body position as best he can.

Hug cracks Gorgov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hug tries to clinch up but Gorgov circles away and keeps his distance.
Hug shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gorgov as he avoids it easily.

Well Hug has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
