Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 1, fighting out of London, Omar Abidi! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 2, fighting out of London, Ratrick Obeh! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Sam Margolis and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abidi misses with a head kick.
Obeh misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Obeh throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Abidi tried to score with a low kick but Obeh checks it. Obeh goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Obeh tries to close the distance and clinch but Abidi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A clash of legs there as Abidi blocks the low kick. Abidi misses with a two punch combination.
Abidi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head kick misses from Obeh. Abidi avoids the body shot from Obeh.

That's one minute gone in the round. Obeh checks a low kick from Abidi. Ratrick Obeh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A swing and a miss from Obeh. Obeh tries to clinch there but Abidi circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Obeh avoids a punch combination nicely.
Obeh misses with a takedown attempt - Abidi sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Obeh lands a left and a right that send Abidi crashing to the mat, dazed. Obeh thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Abidi is rocked!
It looks like Omar Abidi has been cut. Abidi moves out of range of the strikes. Oh Abidi is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Omar Abidi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Obeh misses with a combination
and Abidi counters with a flying knee. Nice. The fight moves into the clinch position. Abidi seems to have got his legs back now. Obeh lands a left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knees in the clinch landing for Obeh.
Obeh keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Abidi's efforts to push away. Obeh lands a body shot in the clinch.
Abidi is trying to break the clinch but Obeh has him pressed against the cage. Obeh working Abidi over with knees to the body. Abidi is breathing heavily. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Obeh creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Obeh landing some nice looking knees to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Obeh is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Abidi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Obeh utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Obeh is pushing Abidi up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Obeh scores a nice knee to the body.

Obeh lands a nice knee to the body. Obeh tries to score a body lock takedown but Abidi shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Omar Abidi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ratrick Obeh. Obeh changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Abidi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Whack! Obeh lands a heavy head kick that drops Abidi. The ref tackles Obeh to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Abidi was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Ratrick Obeh! Ratrick Obeh retains his lightweight title!
