Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edgars Lazdans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dmitry Medelev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Medelev has chosen Do It Or Die as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Dmitry Medelev will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edgars Lazdans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dmitry Medelev! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lazdans avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dmitry Medelev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lazdans clinches with his opponent.
Lazdans is working for takedown but Medelev is calmly controlling the position for now. Medelev is pressed up against the ropes. Lazdans has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Medelev down to the mat. Medelev avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Lazdans pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lazdans tries a head kick but it misses.
Medelev tries to clinch there but Lazdans circles away.
Lazdans looks to land a body kick but Medelev moved away. Medelev tries to clinch but Lazdans moves out of range. Medelev closes the distance looking to clinch and Lazdans counters with a big head kick but Medelev shrugs it off. Lazdans circles away from the clinch attempt.
Medelev moves out of range of the body kick. Lazdans misses with a head kick.
Lazdans shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lazdans was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lazdans cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Lazdans tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Lazdans wants to stand but Medelev is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Lazdans is breathing heavily. Medelev is in all sorts of trouble here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Medelev throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Medelev is working to get back to half guard.
Medelev manages to regain half guard. Good work. Lazdans trying to pass the guard but Medelev defending well. Medelev is pressing down on Lazdans's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Medelev striking from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Lazdans wants to stand but Medelev is controlling his posture from full guard. Medelev is looking to sinch up a triangle. Lazdans throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Medelev's body to avoid the submission. Medelev has instead reached around Lazdans's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Medelev arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Dmitry Medelev!
