Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gunner Nelsons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Williams!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Williams has taken the fight to the clinch.
Nelsons tries to pull guard but Williams won't allow it.

Nelsons jumps guard but Williams stands there with Nelsons around his waist. Nelsons gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Nelsons swings wildly with an uppercut but Williams uses good head movement to avoid it.

Nelsons tries for a takedown. No joy.

Nelsons is fighting off a takedown attempt but Williams is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Nelsons to the mat. Nelsons regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Nelsons shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Williams manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Nelsons looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Williams!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Nelsons swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Williams is now in Nelsons's guard. A big mistake from Nelsons there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Williams is trying to trip Nelsons. He has hold of a leg but Nelsons is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Williams persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Nelsons has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Williams can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gunner Nelsons.
