Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Teodor Tsvetkov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kimbo Rice! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tsvetkov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tsvetkov shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Rice won't allow Tsvetkov to pass to mount. Tsvetkov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Rice tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Tsvetkov controlling the action here. Tsvetkov could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Rice tries to get to full guard but Tsvetkov has control of the leg. Tsvetkov is pressing down on Rice's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rice is holding on for now. Tsvetkov is figuring out what he wants to do next. Rice looks gassed!
That's one minute gone in the round. Rice slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Tsvetkov gets to his feet. Rice looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Tsvetkov fails with a takedown attempt. Tsvetkov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tsvetkov wants to stand up but Rice has a hold of him and won't allow it. Rice is trying to maintain the position but Tsvetkov is very close to passing his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tsvetkov decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Tsvetkov gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tsvetkov lands a good knee to the midsection. Rice won't want to take too many of those. Tsvetkov breaks from the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tsvetkov. Rice getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Tsvetkov has managed to clinch.
Tsvetkov tries to pull guard but Rice holds him up against the cage and eventually Tsvetkov drops back down to his feet.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Tsvetkov tries to kick Rice off in order to stand up. Rice Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Tsvetkov wants to control but Rice postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tsvetkov is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Rice is looking to take a break and control but Tsvetkov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Tsvetkov is trying to control Rice's posture but Rice avoids it. Tsvetkov prevents Rice from improving position. Tsvetkov is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rice's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Tsvetkov wants to improve his position but Rice is controlling well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Rice throws a head kick that misses. Kimbo Rice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rice misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tsvetkov.
Tsvetkov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Rice gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Tsvetkov decides to return to a standing position. Rice digs a good hook to Tsvetkov's body.
Tsvetkov closes the distance and lands a one-two. Tsvetkov throws a series of strikes that have Rice backpedaling.
Rice misses with a takedown and Tsvetkov counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Rice! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rice wants to clinch so Tsvetkov counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Tsvetkov decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rice, up you get! A head kick from Tsvetkov lands but Rice takes it in his stride. Tsvetkov closes the distance and pushes Rice back into the cage. Tsvetkov works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Tsvetkov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Tsvetkov is desperately trying to improve his position but Rice has a good base and remains in mount. Tsvetkov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rice on the ground. Rice lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Rice is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tsvetkov is controlling him. Tsvetkov wants to control from the top but Rice keeps moving. Tsvetkov stands and throws Rice's legs to the side, diving into side control. Tsvetkov trying to control the position but Rice is working away. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Tsvetkov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rice, who protects the arm well.

Tsvetkov shoots for a takedown but Rice saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Tsvetkov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
