Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr Bishop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Patrick McGillicutty! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, William Gold and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGillicutty shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bishop napping and manages to drive through into side control! Bishop sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Bishop is looking to control McGillicutty's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bishop avoid being mounted? McGillicutty is looking to stall here but Bishop recovers full guard. McGillicutty drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McGillicutty jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Bishop thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGillicutty passes Bishop's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Bishop trying to control from the bottom.
Bishop slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Bishop controls McGillicutty momentarily but McGillicutty frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bishop wants to stand but McGillicutty is controlling the position. McGillicutty working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bishop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGillicutty on the ground. McGillicutty tries to free his leg and advance position but Bishop is retaining full guard. McGillicutty is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bishop is trying hard to land a takedown here. McGillicutty sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. McGillicutty tries to clinch but Bishop is having none of it. Bishop throws a head kick that misses. McGillicutty gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. McGillicutty pulls Bishop into guard.

McGillicutty manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bishop manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bishop keeping moving, preventing McGillicutty from controlling successfully. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. McGillicutty stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bishop swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bishop manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McGillicutty manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. There's a bit of a scramble here and now McGillicutty is on top in guard.
McGillicutty forces his way into half guard. McGillicutty is trying to work for a kimura but Bishop is defending well.
Bishop wants to control but McGillicutty is keeping busy and won't allow it. McGillicutty works his way into side control. McGillicutty decides to take the fight back to the feet. McGillicutty moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Patrick McGillicutty dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
McGillicutty closes the distance and clinches. Bishop can't break the clinch.
McGillicutty jumps into guard, dragging Bishop to the mat.
McGillicutty is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Bishop has his hands clasped together but McGillicutty extends an breaks Bishop's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by McGillicutty.
