Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Flavio Shunsal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valente Rocha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rocha is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: "Remember The Name" by Fort Minor. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rocha stuffs the takedown attempt from Shunsal. Shunsal gets slowly back to his feet.
Shunsal throws a sloppy head kick and Rocha moves out of range easily.
Shunsal looks for a takedown but Rocha sprawls well.
Flavio Shunsal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shunsal is on top in guard.

A close round but Valente Rocha will probably get the nod.

Rocha scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Shunsal to see if he's OK.

and Rocha counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Shunsal had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Rocha is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Shunsal Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Rocha's back instead.

Shunsal is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Shunsal gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Shunsal gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Shunsal apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
You get the feeling that Rocha really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The referee warns Rocha that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

That was a close second round but I would say that Flavio Shunsal will probably get the nod.
