Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Craig Wilbon!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Edzard Ling!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Donald Grub and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ling looks to land a combination but Wilbon avoids it well.
Ling swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Wilbon throws a hook but Ling blocks it.
Wilbon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
A punch lands to the side of Wilbon 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Ling lands a glancing blow to the side of Wilbon's head.
Ling looks to score with a jab to the body but Wilbon is just out of range.
Wilbon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Ling.
A swing and a miss from Ling.
A lazy left from Ling finds it's target.
It looks like Craig Wilbon has been cut.
Wilbon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Ling misses the body punch
letting Wilbon counter with a right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ling tries to bum rush Wilbon with a series of wild strikes but Wilbon uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wilbon fails with a takedown attempt.
Ling missing with a left hand there. Wilbon was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ling misses with a double jab
and Wilbon makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilbon avoids a punch combination nicely.
Ling misses with an uppercut. Wilbon saw that one coming.
Wilbon lands a big uppercut and Ling crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Ling looks OK. Wilbon waves Ling back to his feet!
It looks like Edzard Ling has been cut.
Ling looks gassed!
Wilbon walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Ling drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Wilbon swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Ling's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Craig Wilbon!
