The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Mir.
Mir misses with a takedown attempt - Rozario sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rozario connects with a high kick.
Mir shoots in looking for a takedown. Rozario tries to sprawl out of it but Mir keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rozario manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gene Mir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mir shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mir showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mir is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rozario defends it well.
