The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Horrible takedown by Rua or perhaps it was just good defense by Balboa which made him look bad.
Balboa darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Balboa trying to mount his opponent but Rua defends it.
Rua trying to control but Balboa postures up.
Rua won't allow Balboa to pass to mount.
Balboa prevents Rua from improving his position.
Rua is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Balboa frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Balboa is landing with some decent strikes but Rua is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Balboa is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rua can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Balboa lands a big shot there that rocks Rua but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Balboa postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Rua badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Balboa around the waist but Balboa pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Balboa is the winner by TKO! Balboa jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rocky Balboa!
