PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Hardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Camo Ishida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hardin might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Whitechapel - Possession. Ishida has chosen Metallica - Creeping Death as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ishida gets a takedown into half guard.
Ishida moves nicely into side control.
Hardin is looking to regain half guard here but Ishida keeps moving and retains side control.
Hardin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hardin gets back to full guard.

Hardin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ishida wants to control from the top but Hardin keeps moving.

Hardin looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Ishida passes into side control.
Hardin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hardin misses with an elbow from the bottom.
Hardin tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Ishida has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Ishida prevents Hardin from getting the reversal.
Ishida trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Hardin is trying desperately to improve position.

Ishida jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hardin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hardin and Ishida has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ishida tries for a kimura but Hardin is defending well.
Hardin is not content to let Ishida control the position.
Hardin wants to control but Ishida postures up.
Ishida wants to control but Hardin is keeping him busy.
Hardin looking for a sweep but Ishida has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Hardin working to try and regain half guard.
Hardin is breathing heavily.
Ishida with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hardin tries to reverse the position but Ishida maintains control.

Ishida wants to finish this one by submission but Hardin is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Ishida.
Ishida looking to control but Hardin is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hardin is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Ishida lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hardin manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Hardin looking for submissions off his back.
Ishida wants to control but Hardin is keeping him busy.

Ishida is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hardin is looking to control Ishida's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hardin avoid being mounted?
Hardin tries to roll over but Ishida keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Camo Ishida dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hardin stuffs the takedown attempt from Ishida. Ishida gets slowly back to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ishida.
Camo Ishida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ishida misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Ishida shoots in and drives through. Hardin sprawls well.
Jack Hardin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Camo Ishida.

Hardin drives through and clinches with Ishida against the cage.
The is referee keeping an eye on Hardin - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Knees to the body from Hardin.
Hardin lands a nice elbow.
Ishida tries to pull guard but Hardin holds him up against the cage and eventually Ishida drops back down to his feet.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Ishida is breathing heavily.
The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Hardin for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Hardin breaks the clinch.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Ishida crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hardin - the referee stops the clock and Ishida gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hardin. Ishida manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Hardin fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ishida sprawls well initially but Hardin persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hardin works his way into side control.

Hardin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Hardin tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hardin has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Ishida gets back to half guard.
Ishida manages to get to full guard.

Hardin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ishida has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hardin has managed to get both his arms back between Ishida's legs - danger averted.
Hardin slips nicely into half guard.

Hardin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ishida defends it well.

Hardin throws a strike but Ishida avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Ishida is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Hardin frees his head nicely. Oh but Ishida has switched to an armbar! Hardin is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
