Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Derek Rooberstein! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Longoria II! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rooberstein shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rooberstein stands and throws Longoria II's legs to the side, diving into side control. Rooberstein knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Longoria II on the ground. Rooberstein is chipping away with strikes.
Rooberstein stands up and we're back to a striking position. Longoria II looks gassed! Rooberstein wants to clinch up but Longoria II keeps it at a distance.
Rooberstein throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Longoria II was covering up waiting for the punch and Rooberstein finishes the takedown easily into guard. Longoria II is trying to control the position but Rooberstein postures up. Rooberstein trying to control but Longoria II is working from the bottom.

 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rooberstein looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Some bone on bone action there as Longoria II checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Longoria II lands a head kick!
Rooberstein is trying hard to land a takedown here. Longoria II sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Longoria II shoots and misses
and Rooberstein counters with a single leg into guard. Longoria II didn't expect that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rooberstein sitting in guard, not really doing much. Longoria II not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Rooberstein decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Longoria II, up you get!

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Rooberstein lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Longoria II! Longoria II is in all sorts of trouble here.

Rooberstein goes for an armbar but Longoria II turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Longoria II. Rooberstein throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rooberstein is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Rooberstein looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Longoria II puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rooberstein is looking to control Longoria II's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rooberstein avoid being mounted? Rooberstein wants to get back to full guard.
 Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Rooberstein is looking to clinch. Longoria II connects with a crisp jab. Longoria II fails with a takedown attempt.
 That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rooberstein rushes Longoria II and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Longoria II is trying to drag Rooberstein to the mat but Rooberstein just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Rooberstein wants a takedown but no success here.

Rooberstein has picked Longoria II up - he's going for a ride! Rooberstein dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

 That's four minutes gone in the round. Rooberstein thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Longoria II's head. Longoria II wants to improve his position but Rooberstein is controlling well.
Rooberstein with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Rooberstein trying to control from half guard but Longoria II is working away. Well, if Rooberstein is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight� I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza� Yum. Can't wait.
And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Derek Rooberstein dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Rooberstein closes the distance and pushes Longoria II back into the cage. Longoria II tries for a takedown but Rooberstein manages to get underhooks.

Longoria II keeps control of Rooberstein as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Longoria II jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rooberstein walks away with a smile on his face. Longoria II gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rooberstein tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Longoria II paws at him with a jab and circles away. Longoria II shoots in and drives through. Rooberstein sprawls well. Derek Rooberstein has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evan Longoria II. Longoria II takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Rooberstein decides to stand up, so the ref orders Longoria II to his feet. Longoria II blocks a jab.
Rooberstein shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Longoria II is trying to defend but Rooberstein finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Rooberstein is trying to control the action in half guard but Longoria II is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Rooberstein perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Rooberstein has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Longoria II is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Rooberstein is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Longoria II doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rooberstein. Rooberstein thows a huge punch but Longoria II dodges it nicely.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Longoria II trying to hold on to Rooberstein's head to control him but Rooberstein postures up.

Rooberstein frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rooberstein tries to control but Longoria II wriggling away. Rooberstein is landing with some decent strikes but Longoria II is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Rooberstein postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Longoria II looks a forlorn figure.

And that's the end of the fight! Derek Rooberstein showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rooberstein, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
