Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oertling fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Maia.
Oertling darts in and clinches Maia up against the cage.
Oertling lands a nice knee to the body.
Oertling breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Oertling lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Oertling.
Maia throws a sloppy head kick and Oertling moves out of range easily.
Oertling shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Maia as he jumps to the side.
Oertling uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Maia.
Maia wants to clinch.
Oertling lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
It looks like Demian Maia has been cut.
Oertling just misses with a punch to the body.
Maia avoids a punch combination nicely.

Oertling lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Oertling.

Oertling moves into range and clinches up with Maia.
Maia tries to score a body lock takedown but Oertling shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Maia wants to break free but Oertling has control.
Oertling pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Maia tries to close the distance and clinch but Oertling swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oertling throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maia.
Maia shoots in and bounces Oertling off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maia passes Oertling's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Maia is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Oertling is looking for a sweep. Maia is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Oertling is trying to stand.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Maia lands a nice short elbow.
Maia is trying to work for a kimura but Oertling is defending well.
Oertling tries to get to full guard but Maia has control of the leg.
Oertling wants to control but Maia is keeping busy.
Oertling is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Maia scores with a couple of nice shots.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maia seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Oertling does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Oertling is looking to escape.
Oertling is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Maia scores with a couple of nice shots.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Maia is looking to take a break and control but Oertling is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Oertling wants to get back to his feet.
Maia is taking a breather. Oertling says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Oertling knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Maia on the ground.
Oertling is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Maia seems to be working for a kimura but Oertling defends the submission attempt.
Oertling moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nick Oertling will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Demian Maia's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Maia throws a head kick that misses.
Maia decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Maia moves nicely into side control.
Oertling stops Maia from passing to mount.
Maia is breathing heavily.
Maia is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oertling is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Maia cracks Oertling with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Maia controlling the position.
Oertling pushes Maia away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Maia gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Maia wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Oertling, who protects the arm well.
Oertling wants to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Maia lands a decent elbow from side control.
Oertling takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Maia lands an elbow.
Oertling is trying to get back to his feet.
Maia lands some shots froms side control.
Maia has hold of Oertling's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Oertling tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Maia cranks the arm and Oertling screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Oertling, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Demian Maia!
