The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Up shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has White pinned against the cage. White gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Up bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Up working the ground and pound. Up trying to control the position but White is working away. Up tries to advance to mount but can't. Up is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Up working the ground and pound. Up looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Up wants to lay and pray for a moment but White keeps working. White is trying to get back to his feet. White on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if White tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. White is trying to get back to half guard. White parries the strikes from Up easily there. Up is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable White to escape.
Up wants to lay and pray for a moment but White keeps working. Sloppy strikes there by Up. Up working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Up fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Danga de danga de dang - White scores with a four punch combination! Up closes the distance and clinches up with White, looking for a takedown. Up pushes White against the cage but White circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Fred White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scotty Up. Up tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but White swivels and escapes. Up looks gassed! Good shot there by White.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Up shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with White but White pushes him off and we're back to square one. Up fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but White avoids it really well and circles away. White misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Up shoots in for a takedown but White shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. White drives through with a takedown into guard. White has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! White stands up from guard. Let's bang! Some wild striking there from White.
White scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. White connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Up! He's out on his feet! White rushes in and drops Up with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
