Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Demein Colette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Esko Takanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Colette comes to the cage accompanied by progenies of the great apocalypse. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Demein Colette! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Esko Takanen! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Colette has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Takanen finds it's way round the side to connect with Colette's head. Colette slips under a jab. Takanen blocks a leg kick. Takanen tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Takanen connects with a right hand. Colette shakes it off. Esko Takanen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Takanen takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Takanen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Takanen misses with a looping right. Takanen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Colette's hands.
It looks like Demein Colette has been cut. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Good exchange - Takanen coming out on top. Colette throws a head kick that Takanen semi-blocks.
Takanen connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Colette dodges the punch combination from Takanen.
Colette swings for the body but Takanen moves out of range.
Colette tries to close the distance and clinch but Takanen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Colette checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Colette connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Takanen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Takanen throws a good cross that connects.
Takanen looks to land a left hand but Colette moved out of range nicely. Colette throws a sloppy head kick and Takanen moves out of range easily. Takanen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Takanen lands with a straight right. Colette didn't see that one coming. Colette is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Colette tries to work over Takanen's front leg with a kick but Takanen checks it. Takanen throws a hook but Colette blocks it. Takanen throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Colette ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Colette takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Colette tries a head kick but it misses.
Colette lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Colette lands with a slapping head kick. Colette is breathing heavily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Colette walks into a jab. Takanen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Takanen is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Colette had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Colette throws out a powerful jab. Takanen lands a really nice looking cross but Colette seems unphased.
Takanen works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Colette closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Colette connects with a high kick. Colette tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Takanen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice body punch from Takanen. Takanen with a nice cross. Takanen swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Takanen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Takanen throws a nice looking combination but Colette bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. An inside leg kick from Takanen misses. Nice straight punches there by Takanen. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Takanen. Takanen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Takanen fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Takanen lands with a thumping leg kick.
Colette takes one on the button. Takanen drops Colette with a left right combo! Takanen follows him down to the ground into side control.
Colette is rocked! Takanen decides to stand up, so the ref orders Colette to his feet. Oh Colette is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Takanen drops Colette with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Colette! Takanen dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (strikes). Esko Takanen!
