Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexey Shishkin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vova Aushev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexey Shishkin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vova Aushev! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shishkin instigates a clinch. Aushev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Aushev shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Shishkin trying to control but Aushev postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aushev wants to pass the guard but Shishkin is defending well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aushev is trying to control the action in half guard but Shishkin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Shishkin is trying to stand back up but Aushev is controlling him
That's one minute gone in the round. Shishkin keeps control of the position for the meantime. Shishkin wants to improve his position but Aushev is controlling well.
Shishkin is looking to escape.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Shishkin has managed to clinch.
Shishkin has Aushev pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shishkin pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Aushev tumbling to the mat - Shishkin dives into Aushev's guard. Shishkin has gone for a leg lock! Aushev slips out almost immediately though and dives into Shishkin's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aushev wants to pass the guard but Shishkin is keeping the position. Shishkin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Shishkin trying to control but he's not successful this time. Aushev gets back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aushev kicks off Shishkin and gets to his feet. Aushev fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Shishkin is looking to clinch. Aushev shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shishkin as he avoids it easily. Aushev looks gassed! Aushev tries to clinch but fails miserably and Shishkin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shishkin. Shishkin trying to control but Aushev is working from the bottom. Aushev tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Aushev is trying to keep Shishkin in close.
Shishkin throws and elbow that misses. Aushev uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shishkin's guard. Nice move by Aushev! Shishkin has control of Aushev's left arm, preventing Aushev from doing any damage. Aushev preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alexey Shishkin dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Shishkin stuns Aushev with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Shishkin doesn't succeed with the takedown and Aushev counters with a takedown into side control. Shishkin wants to control but Aushev postures up. Shishkin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Aushev on the ground. Shishkin keeps Aushev under control for a moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aushev trying to control the position but Shishkin is working away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aushev working away. Shishkin could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Aushev has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Shishkin takes the fight into the clinch. Shishkin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Shishkin punishes Aushev's body with a nice straight punch. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Shishkin, right into the meat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shishkin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Shishkin tries for a takedown but Aushev manages to get underhooks.
Shishkin breaks from the clinch.
A head kick by Aushev misses and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Shishkin has closed the distance and engaged Aushev in a clinch.
Shishkin jumps guard.
Aushev wants to pass the guard but Shishkin is keeping the position. Shishkin is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Shishkin wants to sweep here but Aushev controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shishkin is looking for a triangle but Aushev pushes his legs off easily.

Aushev won't allow Shishkin to sweep him here. Aushev passes Shishkin's left leg - he's now in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Aushev prevents Shishkin from improving his position. Aushev is trying to control the action in half guard but Shishkin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Shishkin wants to control but Aushev is keeping busy and won't allow it. Aushev escapes and gets back to his feet. Shishkin doesn't manage to clinch there - Aushev circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vova Aushev showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Shishkin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shishkin is defended easily by Aushev. Vova Aushev seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Aushev tries to clinch but Shishkin moves away and Shishkin counters with a one-two to the body. Shishkin cracks the inside of Aushev's front leg. Aushev shoots in and drives through. Shishkin sprawls well. Shishkin shoots for a double leg takedown but Aushev sprawls well. He's pushed Shishkin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Shishkin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Shishkin doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shishkin tries to land a sweep but no joy. Aushev trying to control the position from guard on top but Shishkin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Shishkin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Aushev is one step ahead there. Aushev wants to control from the top but Shishkin keeps moving. Aushev won't allow Shishkin to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Aushev is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Shishkin doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Aushev counter with a right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexey Shishkin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shishkin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Aushev is looking for a sweep. Shishkin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Shishkin is stalling here. Aushev is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Shishkin seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Aushev has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Shishkin tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aushev punches the canvas rather than the man. Aushev is looking to control Shishkin but Shishkin is wriggling around and keeping busy. Shishkin biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape. Shishkin is in bad spot here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Shishkin covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Shishkin trying to get back to his feet but Aushev is in full control for now. Aushev is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Shishkin knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Shishkin for a finish. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Aushev has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Shishkin has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
And that's the end of the fight! Vova Aushev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Aushev has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
