Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Steven Bishop! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicolai Vladimier! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vladimier closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Bishop to the mat! Bishop manages to get full guard.
Bishop has his foot on Vladimier's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vladimier works his way back into a safe position though. Vladimier seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bishop has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Vladimier preventing the sweep.
Vladimier drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vladimier jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Vladimier wants to pass the guard but Bishop is keeping the position. Vladimier stops Bishop from standing up.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Bishop doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Vladimier counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vladimier.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Vladimier prevents Bishop from getting back to his feet. Vladimier tries to free his leg and advance position but Bishop is retaining full guard.
Vladimier drops back looking for a leg! Bishop is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bishop manages to kick Vladimier off! Vladimier jumps back into Bishop's guard. Bishop might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Bishop is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Vladimier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Vladimier passes Bishop's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Bishop kicks Vladimier off and gets back to his feet. Bishop darts in trying to clinch
and Vladimier counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bishop won't be happy with that.
 That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vladimier in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Bishop is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Nicolai Vladimier! Nicolai Vladimier retains his middleweight title!
