Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankie Boyle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maku Hiro! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hiro showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Boyle.
Boyle tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hiro swats him away and circles back towards the center. A head kick misses from Boyle. Hiro swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Boyle wants to clinch. Boyle rushes Hiro and presses him up against the cage. Hiro wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Boyle blocks an uppercut.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hiro. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boyle looks to throw an elbow but misses. Hiro misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Boyle lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Boyle tries a knee to the head but Hiro blocks it.
Boyle keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hiro's efforts to push away. Hiro is trying to drag Boyle to the mat but Boyle just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Boyle lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Maku Hiro has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Boyle breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Boyle throws a series of strikes that have Hiro backpedaling.
Hiro misses with a straight right. Hiro ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Hiro throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hiro throws a lazy right hand but Boyle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. A punch combination from Boyle misses. Hiro throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hiro sizes up Boyle with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Boyle misses with a wild combination.
Boyle throws a combination that misses and Hiro counters with a left to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Hiro ducks under a wild hook from Boyle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hiro throws a series of strikes that have Boyle backpedaling.
It looks like Frankie Boyle has been cut. A combination from Boyle does no damage. Boyle swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Hiro counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Boyle off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Hiro follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Boyle was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Maku Hiro!
