PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chanse Cravens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kory Tyson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chanse Cravens looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chanse Cravens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kory Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cravens swats away the attempt to clinch by Tyson.
Cravens looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Tyson tries a head kick but it misses.
An inside leg kick lands from Tyson.
Cravens closes the distance but Tyson moves to the side
and Tyson counters with a head kick. That will keep Cravens thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

and Tyson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Tyson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cravens's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Well, if Tyson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Tyson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Tyson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cravens kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kory Tyson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Tyson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cravens was covering up waiting for the punch and Tyson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Tyson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

and Tyson counters with a left and a right that stings Cravens.

Cravens takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Cravens chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tyson can pounce on him.

Tyson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Cravens darts in and clinches Tyson up against the cage.

Cravens jumps guard but Tyson stands there with Cravens around his waist. Cravens gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chanse Cravens. That's going to take a lot out of him.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tyson is pulling down on Cravens's head. It's preventing any offense from Cravens, at least for the moment.
Tyson is trying to control the position but Cravens postures up.
Tyson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Tyson shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Tyson was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cravens is bucking up trying to escape but Tyson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Tyson shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cravens is trying to defend but Tyson finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Tyson is pressed up against the cage. Cravens has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tyson down to the mat. Tyson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cravens looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cravens is thwarting Tyson's attempts to control the position.
Cravens wants to pass to mount but Tyson is defending the position.
Cravens throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Cravens is looking to take a break and control but Tyson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tyson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cravens's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cravens's back!

Tyson wants to sweep here but Cravens controlling him for the moment.
Tyson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cravens's guard.
Chanse Cravens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Tyson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tyson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cravens working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Tyson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Tyson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kory Tyson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Tyson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
