Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boo Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Stewart! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Jonathan Paton and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stewart sprawls well. Stewart wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Coleman gets slowly back to his feet. Tony Stewart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Coleman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Stewart pinned against the cage. Stewart gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Coleman works over Stewart's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Tony Stewart has been cut. Coleman blocks a head kick by Stewart.
Stewart throws a right hand that Coleman ducks under and follows up with a left that Coleman also avoids with ease. Stewart fails to land with a series of punches.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Coleman throwing shots but Stewart is blocking nicely. Stewart wants to improve his position but Coleman is controlling well.
Coleman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stewart's head. Coleman seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Coleman is breathing heavily. Coleman wants to control but Stewart is keeping him busy. Coleman stops Stewart from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Coleman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Coleman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Stewart misses with a jab, cross combination.
Stewart moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Stewart jabs Coleman right on the nose. Coleman blinks but takes it well. Stewart misses with a low kick as Coleman jumps back. Stewart scores with a three punch combo!
Stewart works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Coleman takes one to the chin there. Stewart with a body punch. A glancing blow. Stewart tries a head kick but it misses.
Stewart lands with a nice combination. Coleman backs away looking to recover. Coleman has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Coleman there as he acknowledges the shot. Stewart is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman shoots for a takedown but Stewart saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Nice uppercut there from Stewart. Coleman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stewart to the mat! Stewart manages to get full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coleman with a flurry of punches that miss. Coleman trying to control but Stewart is working from the bottom. Coleman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Coleman trying to control the position from guard on top but Stewart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Stewart pulls Coleman in close to his closed guard and prevents Coleman from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coleman working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Stewart kicks Coleman off and gets to his feet. Stewart throws a one two combo.
Stewart is looking to score with low kicks. Coleman blocks a head kick by Stewart.
Coleman fails to land the takedown. Stewart cracks Coleman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Coleman avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Stewart throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Nice cross by Stewart. Stewart swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Tony Stewart dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tony Stewart's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Stewart throws a combination that misses and Coleman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stewart won't be happy with that. Stewart parries the strikes from Coleman easily there. Coleman is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stewart to escape.
Stewart takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Stewart wants to get back to his feet. Stewart takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stewart is looking for a sweep. Coleman sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Stewart is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Stewart prevents Coleman from improving position. Coleman landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Stewart tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Stewart smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Stewart lands with a shot to the body. Stewart lands a with a good body shot. Coleman slips a jab from Stewart. No luck with that takedown attempt from Coleman. Boo Coleman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No joy there for Stewart, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Coleman works his way back into a safe position though. Stewart throws a nice looking combination but Coleman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Coleman fails with a takedown attempt. Stewart tries a head kick but it misses.

Stewart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Stewart lands a jab to the nose. Coleman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stewart manages to avoid it. Stewart rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coleman moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Stewart scores with a one two! Coleman had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Stewart misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Stewart has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Stewart throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Coleman.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boo Coleman. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Coleman with that takedown attempt. Coleman tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Stewart swivels and escapes. Stewart misses with a head kick.
Stewart leaves Coleman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Coleman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Stewart throws a leg kick that is checked and Coleman counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Stewart's guard now. Stewart preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Coleman postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Coleman works over Stewart with some ground and pound from guard. Coleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Stewart has wrist control.

Stewart is fighting to maintain full guard but Coleman has managed to sneak the leg through. Stewart wants to control but Coleman is keeping busy and won't allow it. Coleman missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Coleman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Stewart with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Stewart tries to kick Coleman off but Coleman keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Coleman throwing shots but Stewart is blocking nicely. Coleman throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Boo Coleman showed his dominance in that final round. I think Coleman has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
