Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between costo kroshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geoge Sotiropoulos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Geoge Sotiropoulos!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sotiropoulos tries to work over kroshi's front leg with a kick but kroshi checks it.
Some bone on bone action there as Sotiropoulos checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
kroshi is looking to clinch.

kroshi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A jab from Sotiropoulos does it's job there.

No luck with that takedown attempt from kroshi.
kroshi really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sotiropoulos is not content to let kroshi control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

kroshi is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sotiropoulos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

kroshi shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sotiropoulos napping and manages to drive through into side control!

kroshi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sotiropoulos keeps working.

You can see the frustration on Sotiropoulos's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sotiropoulos is trying to escape the position but kroshi is controlling the position.
kroshi stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sotiropoulos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming kroshi to the mat! kroshi manages to get full guard.

kroshi is looking for a triangle but Sotiropoulos pushes his legs off easily.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
kroshi tries to clinch but Sotiropoulos is having none of it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
kroshi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sotiropoulos uses from the top position.

kroshi had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Sotiropoulos is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. kroshi Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Sotiropoulos's back instead.
Sotiropoulos is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if kroshi gets his way!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Sotiropoulos breaks kroshi's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
kroshi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Sotiropoulos tries to roll over but kroshi keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
kroshi is taking a breather. Sotiropoulos says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
kroshi wants to stand up but Sotiropoulos has a hold of him and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

kroshi stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

and Sotiropoulos makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

kroshi tries to close the distance and clinch but Sotiropoulos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for costo kroshi. That's going to take a lot out of him.

kroshi tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sotiropoulos swivels and escapes.
Sotiropoulos chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before kroshi can pounce on him.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well kroshi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
