Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Halberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luiz Jose!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halberg scores with a hook to the body. Jose takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Jose has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Halberg can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Halberg avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Jose is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Halberg defends well.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Jose working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Halberg doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Halberg manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Jose looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jose slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jose is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Halberg has his hands clasped together but Jose extends an breaks Halberg's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jose.
