Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Dubbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rick Dubbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Josh Garcia!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dubbs cracks Garcia with a good jab.
Dubbs fails in his attempt to clinch.

Dubbs gets the takedown into side control.
Garcia tries to bench press Dubbs off him but Dubbs keeps the position.

Dubbs tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dubbs has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Dubbs misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Garcia manages to get back to half guard.

Dubbs is looking for a kimura but Garcia is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dubbs to get the leverage.
Dubbs wants to stand up but Garcia is controlling the position.
Garcia is trying to get back to full guard.
Garcia makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Garcia.
Garcia is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dubbs thows a big elbow that misses.
Garcia is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dubbs is controlling him.
Dubbs wants to pass the guard but Garcia is keeping the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Garcia shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dubbs napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Dubbs wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Dubbs is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Garcia's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Dubbs is breathing heavily.
Dubbs tries to kick Garcia off but Garcia keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Let's hope that Garcia has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Dubbs tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Garcia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Dubbs is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Dubbs is trying to keep Garcia in close.
Garcia seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Garcia wants to control from the top but Dubbs keeps moving.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dubbs loads up on a big right hand but Garcia slips the punch.
Dubbs jabs Garcia right on the nose. Garcia blinks but takes it well.
A big left from Dubbs misses.
Dubbs throws a right and a left that both miss.

Dubbs clinches with his opponent.
Garcia is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Dubbs is working for takedown but Garcia is calmly controlling the position for now.

Garcia gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Dubbs manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Garcia manages to get himself to full guard.

Dubbs is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Garcia is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Garcia has escaped and now he's on top!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rick Dubbs will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Garcia gets a clinch.
The is referee keeping an eye on Garcia - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Dubbs wants a takedown.

Garcia drags the fight down to the ground.
Garcia avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Garcia is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dubbs postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Garcia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dubbs, into his guard.
Garcia chips away with some ground and pound.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Garcia won't allow Dubbs to sweep him here.
Garcia would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Dubbs has his foot on Garcia's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Garcia works his way back into a safe position though.

Garcia gets to his feet. Dubbs looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Garcia doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dubbs counters with a single leg into guard. Garcia didn't expect that.
Garcia controls Dubbs momentarily but Dubbs frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dubbs throws and elbow that misses. Garcia uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dubbs's guard. Nice move by Garcia!
Dubbs wants to get back to his feet but Garcia is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dubbs is trying to keep Garcia in close.
Garcia has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dubbs is proving hard to escape from.
Garcia sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Dubbs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Garcia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Garcia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Garcia stands and throws Dubbs's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Dubbs is looking to reverse the position.

Garcia is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dubbs has escaped the position, nice work there.
Dubbs tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Garcia presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Garcia.
Rick Dubbs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A head kick misses from Dubbs.
The fight stays on the outside here - Garcia looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Garcia walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Rick Dubbs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dubbs throws a head kick but Garcia moves out of range.

Josh Garcia showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Garcia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dubbs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Dubbs is looking for a sweep.
Garcia is looking to take a break and control but Dubbs is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dubbs sneaks back into half guard.
Dubbs is trying to stand.
Dubbs flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Garcia lands a nice short elbow.
Garcia prevents Dubbs from improving his position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Garcia clinches up against the cage.
Dubbs is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Garcia looking to slow down the pace here.

Garcia decides to pull guard.
Dubbs postures up.

Dubbs drops back, looking for a kneebar! Garcia looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Garcia looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Garcia!
Garcia is staying tight to Dubbs's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Garcia is chipping away with strikes.

Garcia scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Dubbs to see if he's OK.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dubbs is not content to let Garcia control the position.
Garcia seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Dubbs trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Garcia manages to pass to mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dubbs is looking to get to half guard.

Josh Garcia comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Garcia has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
