Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between John Phosphate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kaiden Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Kaiden Maddox enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Phosphate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaiden Maddox!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maddox misses with a series of wild punches.

Phosphate gets the takedown into side control.
Maddox is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Phosphate has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Maddox is looking for a sweep.
Maddox is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Phosphate throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Maddox wants to get back to his feet.
Phosphate looks up at the clock and then as Maddox takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Phosphate smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Phosphate cracks Maddox with a big elbow.
Maddox takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Maddox is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Phosphate asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Maddox is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Phosphate off and has taken his back!
Phosphate is breathing heavily.

Phosphate rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Maddox not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Maddox thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Phosphate's head.
Maddox looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Phosphate with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Phosphate is trying to get back to full guard.

Maddox decides to return to a standing position.
Phosphate fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Maddox moves away from the strike by Phosphate.
Phosphate shoots in but no luck this time.

Maddox takes the fight into the clinch.

Maddox wants the takedown. Phosphate is fighting it off but Maddox persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Phosphate's guard against the cage.

Maddox gets to his feet - Phosphate follows without any prompting.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Maddox decides to pull guard.

Maddox pushes Phosphate off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Phosphate slips a jab and a cross from Maddox.
Phosphate fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Phosphate. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Maddox darts in and clinches Phosphate up against the cage.
Maddox blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Maddox stops a takedown attempt from Phosphate.
Maddox gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Phosphate.

Maddox lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Maddox wants the takedown. Phosphate is fighting it off but Maddox persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Phosphate's guard against the cage.

Phosphate is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Maddox defends well.
Maddox throws and elbow that misses. Phosphate uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maddox's guard. Nice move by Phosphate!

Maddox wriggles free and stands up.

Maddox shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Phosphate napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Phosphate throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Phosphate might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Phosphate is working to avoid the ground and pound but Maddox connects with a decent elbow.

Phosphate manages to get back to half guard.

Maddox is working Phosphate over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Maddox distracts Phosphate with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Kaiden Maddox dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Phosphate doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Maddox counters with a body kick that stops Phosphate in his tracks momentarily.
Maddox lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.

Maddox changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Phosphate looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maddox scores with a couple of short elbows.
Phosphate is looking for a sweep.

Maddox decides to stand back up.
Maddox misses with a jab, cross combination.
Phosphate closes the distance but Maddox moves to the side

and Maddox counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Phosphate shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maddox pinned against the cage. Maddox gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Phosphate. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Maddox lands with a slapping head kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Maddox escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Phosphate wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Maddox, who protects the arm well.
Maddox throws a few strikes from the bottom but Phosphate takes advantage and mounts!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maddox bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Maddox is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Maddox content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Phosphate has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Maddox off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Maddox's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Maddox duly obliges.

Maddox tries to close the distance and clinch but Phosphate swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Maddox throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.

Phosphate is trying to get an arm triangle but Maddox is defending well.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Phosphate looks up at the clock and then as Maddox takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Phosphate smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Phosphate will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Maddox misses with a two punch combination.

Phosphate feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Maddox is looking to stand up but Phosphate isn't so interested in that idea.
Phosphate is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
Maddox wants to get back to his feet but Phosphate is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Phosphate working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Maddox's head.

Phosphate decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Maddox wants to improve his position but Phosphate is controlling well.

Phosphate is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Maddox defends it well.
Maddox is trying to stand.
Phosphate uses his free foot to push down on Maddox's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Maddox.
Maddox is in all sorts of trouble here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Maddox can do anything to dispel that myth.
Phosphate lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Phosphate moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Maddox has worked his arm free - good work by Maddox!
Maddox tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Phosphate wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Maddox takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Maddox manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Phosphate is working for a kimura but Maddox is defending it quite comfortably.
Maddox is trying to stand.
Phosphate misses with a head shot. Maddox uses the momentum to regain guard.

Phosphate working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Maddox wants to sweep but no luck.
Maddox keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom.
Phosphate stops Maddox from standing up.
Phosphate working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Maddox's head.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Phosphate feints and as Maddox raises his hands in defense, Phosphate changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Maddox prevents the takedown attempt.
Phosphate tries to pull guard but Maddox holds him up against the cage and eventually Phosphate drops back down to his feet.

Maddox breaks from the clinch.
Maddox lands with a slapping head kick.
John Phosphate is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Phosphate closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maddox circles away.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Phosphate showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Phosphate has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
