Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Night!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Night tries to close the distance and clinch up but Morrison swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Night tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Morrison paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Morrison tries for a takedown but Night sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Morrison dives in and grabs Night's left leg, looking for a takedown. Night pushes down on Morrison's head and hops out.
Morrison shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Travis Night has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Morrison.
Night wants to clinch.
Morrison swats away the attempt to clinch by Night.
Morrison circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Morrison bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Night is trying to control Morrison's posture but Morrison avoids it.
Night is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Night parries the strikes from Morrison easily there. Morrison is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Night to escape.
Morrison throws a strike aimed at the side of Night's head but Night avoids it well.

Night tries to kick Morrison off but Morrison keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Night throws a right and a left that both miss.
Night throws a head kick that misses
and Morrison counters with an inside leg kick.
Night throws a series of punches but Morrison moves out of range.
Morrison closes the distance and clinches up with Night, looking for a takedown. Morrison pushes Night against the cage but Night circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Morrison shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Night throws a leg kick that misses.

Morrison looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Night controlling the position for now.
Night is trying to stand back up but Morrison is controlling him

Night is looking to improve his position.
Morrison is looking to advance position but Night won't allow it.
Morrison wants to advance to full mount but Night doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Night looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Night is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Morrison throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Night works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Night tries to clinch but Morrison is having none of it.
Night tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Night wants to clinch

and Morrison counters with a shoot takedown. Night fights it but they end up in guard.
Night is breathing heavily.
Night being controlled here, momentarily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morrison trying to control the position from guard on top but Night is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Night closes the distance but Morrison moves to the side

and Morrison counters with a single leg into guard. Night didn't expect that.
Night controls Morrison momentarily but Morrison frees himself.
Night looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Morrison puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Morrison thows a huge punch but Night dodges it nicely.
Morrison is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Night is trying to stand up here but Morrison is controlling him well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Night trying to hold on to Morrison's head to control him but Morrison postures up.

Morrison thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Night's head.
Morrison seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Night does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Morrison lands a nice short elbow.
Morrison wants to take a breather but Night is having none of it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

and Morrison counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Night!

Morrison has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Night's face.


Night is rocked!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Scott Morrison showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Night drops down looking for an ankle pick but Morrison pulls his leg out and moves away.

Morrison has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Night keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Morrison working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Night tries to buck Morrison off but Morrison is having none of it.

Morrison changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Night looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Night is trying to escape the position but Morrison is controlling the position.

Night is keen to just control but Morrison is a slippery customer.
Morrison is trying to control but can't.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Morrison can do anything to dispel that myth.
Morrison is looking to get back to full guard here but Night has managed to pass to side control instead.
Night blocks Morrison's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Morrison is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Morrison is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Night trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Night tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Morrison tries to hold on but Night postures up.
Travis Night has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Scott Morrison is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Night goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Morrison is on top in guard.
