Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between shinya Aoki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heihachi Hayashida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heihachi Hayashida told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, shinya Aoki! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Heihachi Hayashida! The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aoki has managed to clinch.
Aoki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Aoki darts in and clinches Hayashida up against the cage. Hayashida is pressed up against the cage. Aoki has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Hayashida down to the mat. Hayashida avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Aoki shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hayashida sprawls well. Hayashida wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aoki gets slowly back to his feet. Hayashida throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Aoki. Aoki shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for shinya Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Aoki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Aoki wants to clinch up but Hayashida keeps it at a distance. Aoki gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Aoki wants to get back to his feet but Hayashida is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Aoki has control of Hayashida's left arm, preventing Hayashida from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki wants to stand up but Hayashida is controlling him. Hayashida passes Aoki's left leg - he's now in half guard. Hayashida is taking a breather. Aoki says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Hayashida throwing shots but Aoki is blocking nicely. Hayashida prevents Aoki from improving his position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hayashida is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Hayashida is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Aoki is not content to let Hayashida control the position. Hayashida is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Hayashida is looking to take a break and control but Aoki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki is trying to control but can't.
Hayashida decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Aoki is breathing heavily. Hayashida tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hayashida shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hayashida was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Hayashida looking to finish Aoki with some ground and pound. This is bad for Aoki! The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Aoki wants to hold on but Hayashida pushes him away. Hayashida looking to control but Aoki is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Hayashida throws a wild left hand from mount and Aoki manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hayashida is trying to control the action in half guard but Aoki is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Aoki wants to improve his position but Hayashida is controlling well.
Aoki is refusing to be controlled, as Hayashida sits in half guard. Hayashida prevents Aoki from improving his position. Hayashida tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Aoki with a poor takedown and Hayashida counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hayashida. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Heihachi Hayashida dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Hayashida gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily so Aoki counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Hayashida controls Aoki momentarily but Aoki frees himself. Hayashida working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Aoki doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Aoki manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Hayashida pulls Aoki in close to his closed guard and prevents Aoki from doing any damage or advancing position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Aoki decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hayashida, up you get!
That's one minute gone in the round. Aoki pushes Hayashida up against the cage in a clinch. Aoki stalling the fight.
Aoki jumps guard but Hayashida stands there with Aoki around his waist. Aoki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hayashida has Aoki pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Aoki manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Aoki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Aoki clinches but Hayashida breaks the clinch and Hayashida counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hayashida. Hayashida with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hayashida tries to free his leg and advance position but Aoki is retaining full guard. Hayashida drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Aoki manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hayashida has Aoki in his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hayashida working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Aoki has passed into half guard!
Aoki tries to stand and escape but Hayashida is controlling the position. Hayashida looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aoki decides to stand up. Aoki defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hayashida. shinya Aoki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Heihachi Hayashida. Aoki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hayashida is refusing to be controlled, as Aoki sits in half guard. Hayashida wants to get back to full guard. Aoki stalling. Hayashida has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aoki is working away from the top position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hayashida punching from the bottom.
It looks like Aoki is going to stand back up.
Hayashida makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! shinya Aoki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hayashida has taken the fight to the clinch.
Aoki breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
shinya Aoki dominated that second round. That's time! Aoki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Hayashida feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hayashida is looking to work some ground and pound but Aoki has wrist control. Aoki seems keen to control Hayashida's posture. Aoki avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Aoki looking for a sweep. Not yet Aoki, not yet. Hayashida with a flurry of punches that miss. Hayashida wants to pass the guard but Aoki is keeping the position. Aoki trying to keep a closed guard but Hayashida is proving a slippery customer.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Hayashida forces Aoki back against the cage and clinches. Aoki lands a hook to the side of the head. Aoki tries to pull guard but Hayashida holds him up against the cage and eventually Aoki drops back down to his feet.
Hayashida tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aoki smiles and moves away.
Hayashida looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Aoki! Hayashida looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aoki in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Heihachi Hayashida has got the better of the ground game so far. Hayashida controlling from the full mount. Hayashida has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Hayashida working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Aoki turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Hayashida off and cradles Aoki's limp body as Hayashida celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Heihachi Hayashida!
